"BUCKLIN, Mo., Oct 9 - The Rev. B. H. Luebbering, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church at Wien, Mo., described a phenomenon which he saw in the noonday sky Saturday.
He said he saw the letters "M-A-R-Y" and "V" and a figure holding a cross, the signs, the priest said, appeared one at a time, formed mostly in a golden light and at times in deep blue, against the cloud-studded sky near the sun.
About 16 other persons were reported also to have witnessed the phenomenon.
Wien is 18 miles southeast of here."
